SATURDAY: ARRIVAL IN PALERMO
Arrived in Palermo, you’ll settle in your hotel then you’ll meet your tour leader who will accompany you during the whole tour at the discovery of the island. Welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
SUNDAY: PALERMO - MONREALE
Breakfast at the hotel; morning visit of the Capital of Sicily, one of the richest town in the island for history and art. We will visit the Cathedral, “Palazzo dei Normanni” with its “Palatina” Chapel, the “Quattro Canti”, the Opera House, the Pretoria Square. We will continue to Monreale to admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics, and the cloister of the Benedectine monastery with Moorish architecture. In the evening back to Palermo for dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
MONDAY: ERICE - SELINUNTE - AGRIGENTO
Breakfast at the hotel; the whole day will be dedicated to the visit of the beautiful area of Trapani, with its vineyards famous all around the world; we will visit the fascinating Erice, a small medieval village with ancient Greek origin, situated on a little hill, where it will be possible to enjoy a fantastic view on the Egadi Islands and have a nice taste of its typical almonds biscuits. After lunch in restaurant we will continue with the visit of the archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area. In the late afternoon we will reach Agrigento; accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
TUESDAY: AGRIGENTO – PIAZZAARMERINA - CATANIA
Breakfast at the hotel; in the morning we will visit the wonderful “Valle dei Templi”. Concordia Temple, Ercules Temple, Giunone Temple and Castore and Polluce Temples represent the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. We will continue to Piazza Armerina, in the heart of Sicily, where we will visit “Villa Romana del Casale”, famous for its fantastic mosaics. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will continue to Catania where our tour will end.

TUESDAY: ARRIVAL IN CATANIA
Arrived in Catania, you’ll settle in your hotel then you’ll meet your tour leader who will accompany you during the whole tour at the discovery of the island. Welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight at the
hotel.
WEDNESDAY: ETNA- TAORMINA
Breakfast at the hotel; morning dedicated to a fantastic excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Across fascinating
landscape, we will reach a height of 2000 metres, where we will enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Ionic Sea. Visit of a cellar for wine tasting and typical Sicilian products. In the afternoon free time in Taormina, the small medieval village called “the pearl of the Ionic Sea”, famous for its typical small streets and his fascinating Greek theatre. After dinner at hotel nice walk in Acireale downtown tasting typical Sicilian ice-cream.
THURSDAY: SYRACUSE - CATANIA
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning excursion to Syracuse, the most beautiful Greek colony of Sicily. We will visit the famous “Fontana Aretusa”, and the archaeological area with its marvellous theatre and “Orecchio di Dionisio”. After lunch in Ortigia, the small baroque island, old city centre of Syracuse, the tour will go on with the visit of Catania, the town known for its original baroque style and for its streets built with black lava stone from mount Etna. Walking tour through Via Etnea, the Baroque street “Via Crociferi”, the Piazza Duomo with the athedral and the “Liotru” statue, symbol of the city, the roman Amphitheatre, the Opera House, the University, and the noble Palace of Biscari. Visit of Catania by night and dinner in a typical Sicilian restaurant. Return to the hotel and overnight.

1st Day: Catania - Acireale/Giardini Naxos
Arrival in Catania and transfer to hotel near Acireale/Giardini Naxos. Dinner and overnight.
Possibility to make a panoramic tour in Acireale, where you could taste an excellent ice-cream (extra price).
2nd Day: Syracuse - Ortigia - Catania
After breakfast we will leave to Syracuse, ancient Greek colony completely built in tuff. We will visit the Greek Theatre, the “Orecchio di Dionisio” and the Roman Amphitheatre. We will also visit briefly the historical downtown of Ortigia, small baroque island with its splendid Cathedral and the mythical “Fonte Aretusa” (Aretusa Fountain). In the afternoon, we will visit the “Eurialo Castle” (the white fortress), an artwork of Greek military architecture.
Afterwords, we will proceed to Catania, to visit briefly the historical downtown: the Cathedral, the “Ursino Castle” and the Elephant built in lava-rock. Back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Possibility to have lunch in a typical restaurant (extra price).
3rd Day: Piazza Armerina - Enna - Mussomeli - Agrigento
After breakfast, we will leave to Piazza Armerina to visit the “Villa Romana del Casale”, famous for its splendid mosaics. We will proceed to Enna, the highest chief town in Italy (950 mts.), to visit the “Lombardia Castle”, from whose towers you can see almost whole Sicily. In the afternoon, visit to the “Mussomeli Castle”, built in the IV century by Manfredi III Chiaramonte on the ruins of an Arab fortilice. In the evening, arrival at hotel near Agrigento. Accommodation in the reserved rooms, dinner and overnight.

1st Day: Catania Arrival in Catania and transfer by GT Coach to hotel near Acireale/Giardini Naxos. Accommodation in the reserved rooms, dinner and overnight (according to the flight time, there could be the possibility to visit Catania and/or the “Riviera dei Ciclopi”).
2ns Day: Etna - Taormina After breakfast, we will leave for an excursion on Etna, the highest active volcano in whole Europe (3.370 mts.). We will see the “Crateri Silvestri” (height 1.950 mts.), small volcanic cones surrounded by ancient lava flows. Lunch in a farm in the surroundings, to taste the simple and genuine rural cooking. In the afternoon we will proceed to Taormina, to visit the Greek Theatre. Afterwards, nice walk among the small downtown streets. Back to hotel, dinner and overnight.
3rd Day: Vizzini- Caltagirone After breakfast, we will leave to Vizzini to discover the sites where Verga lived and that he chose for his “Cavalleria Rusticana” and other tales. Lunch in a farm, based on typical local specialties. In the afternoon we will leave to Caltagirone, nice town famous for its ceramics and for its confectionery production; we will visit the historical downtown and a typical shop of expert ceramists. Transfer to hotel near Piazza Armerina for dinner and overnight.
